Default [rel] Church's Observation scope V2 Reworked for GWX 2.0

For those who liked this observation scope by Church / Dimitrius07 :

I thought it was great and so I configured it for my own use with GWX 2.0 and so thought I would share it with whoever else wants it.

Its not my mod but rather the work of:

Church - Original
Dimitrius07 - version with help from Redwine, Geralt, Flakmonkey and Raceboy
DMLAVAN - for redmask.

readme file has all the information.

I have configured two versions:

Observation scope for GWX 2.0 (standard view)

Observation scope for GWX 2.0 with intergrated orders mod. (Standard view)

All I did was manually install it as per readme file instructions and using the menu_1024x768 from GWX 2.0 and GWX 2.0 intergrated orders.

With thanks to the GWX team for their brilliant mod.

Its JSGME configured just drop it in as usual.

It is NOT compatable with any other GUI mods around at the moment such as OLC GUI.

This looks good. Finally, a reason to use the observation scope.

Very good job .

I almost forgot about that mod wish i and some folks here worked on some time ago .

If i remember correctly i relized a update version of Church Observation scope, need to check it out on my hard disc. I also will add a correct zoom to it (The attack scope zoom will not be changed).

So i was thinking about little help on thise one, if you interested offcourse

Your instructions in the readme file were very good and I was able to do the update without any problems.

My moding abilities are very basic though but if I can be of help then let me know by PM.

The other version of the observation scope that I know of that you have released is this one in this thread:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=127870

It is more historically acurate I believe? ...But it needs to be configured for JSGME installation. If I get a chance I will have a go at that.

Thanks for all the time you have put into this mod, for me the observation scope is useful and it is great to have one that is differant from the attack scope. This version released in this thread enables me to scan the sky better for aircraft.

I use the observation scope also for tracking targets and for a brief look to ensure they havent changed course. I beleive this would have been done whilst the Commander was still in the control room, certainly early on in the war that is!

Good hunting

I cannot be sure if it will work for GWX 2.1 as I didnt get the time to update it for that version.

No doubt it will work BUT it might and probably will break something else within GWX 2.1 so I wouldnt risk it.

It is easy though to adapt and the intructions on how to do this are contained in the MOD kindly provided by the original author.

Give it a go its very simple!!

If I get a chance in the future I will do it but its getting the time right now :hmm:

I just added this to my GWX 2.1+OLCE2 the other day, and I love it! No problems so far. I am not using OLCE GUI however.

If someone wants to imply this to any mod, has to paste these lines:

[G2B I127]
Name=Compass
Type=1030;Static bmp
ItemID=0x2B000004
ParentID=0x2B000000
;Pos=273,700,180,16
Pos=273,680,180,16
Color=0x66B26680
Materials=1
Display=0;No stretch
Mat 0=data/menu/gui/bearing.tga
MatFlags=0x1
TexFmt=0x9

[G2B I128]
Name=Compass bkgr
Type=1031;Stat bmp array
ItemID=0x2B000002
ParentID=0x2B000000
Pos=268,710,190,36
Color=0xFFFFFF00
Materials=1
Display=2;Linear
Mat 0=data/menu/gui/layout/bkgr.tga
Crop 0=0,0,4,4
MatFlags=0x1
TexFmt=0x9
Drag=false
BmpState=1
NeedFocus=true
SelOne=false
IdGroup=0
StatesColors=0xFFFFFFFF, 0xFFFFFFFF, 0xFFFFFFFF, 0xFFFFFFFF
ToolTipText=2200

to the respective lines of his menu_ini and then it is fine. You will only need the Gui folder images, renaming them accordingly.

However, the FOV of this scope has to be reduced 50% in height, to a more "square" shape.

This is a fantastic mod especially for realism players. It gives a reason for using the obs scope.
Does anyone know if it is GWX 3.0 compatible?
