Default "Rig fo red" errrr blue

currently in the game as nightime falls, the sub is "rigged for red" however on the few ww2 subs that i have been on it has actually been blue not red, i was wondering if it is possible to change the interior lighting at night time to blue. i would imagine that its just a matter of changing a filter from red to blue, i may be wrong, but it just drives me nuts. as i play on 100% realism it makes me feell like in back in sh3 in a u-boat

VERY easy to change.

I like the blue myself, but left it alone because i thought the red filter was historically accurate. I know the S class rigs for blue, but if anyone can provide some evidence that other boats indeed rigged for blue, id be more then happy to change them. Although anyone here can change them very easily with S3D, you really dont need me to do it for you.

i only say this because i have been on the uss lionfish many times atleast 3-4 times a year, its a balao class, and in both the control room and the conn have the blue lighting. however during the war it may have been different as it was used up into the 1960s for training

AFAIK, in real WW2 US submarines they rigged for red, and not for blue. Sources are several, and all point in the same direction (At least in fleet boats, not in the S-Boats) in the books I have readed: O'Kane, Calvert, etc. The red light was even responsable for one boat running aground: In the early stages of the war, where that rigging for red was new (As proven by the fact that older S-class boats rigged for blue) one navigator plotted the course under red light (Anything written/painted in red becomes invisible under red light) thus missing that there was a red mark in the map indicating coral reefs . The boat went aground!

Just curious...do you recall which boat this was? I would like to see how that incident was written up in the patrol report.

Yep the same was resposible for the flooding of a magazine on the Wahoo. Couldn't see the red indicator.

Sorry I readed it in Blair's "Silent Victory", and finding it there is nearly impossible The boat apparently didn't get lost, as I have used the index to check all subs which were lost due to reasons other than enemy action, and none was the case.
