Back on the boards, But Cant Play SH4

Hey Everyone,

It's been a while since I've been on the boards. I wish you all a belated Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year. I cannot play SH4 because my computer is in the other house in another state, and the computer I'm using for right now would have a meltdown if I even shook the SH4 CD at it, let alone put it in the CD-Rom Drive.
I have yet to test out the latest patch. Can anyone tell me how it turned out? Did it fix many of the Bugs that were addressed on the forum?
I can't wait to play SH4 again, I was only a few days away from completing my first campaign and was glad I could share some pictures along the way, especially the ones with that Japanese guy on my boat. Take it easy all.

Hi Dude I just came back to shiv about two weeks ago almost
when I left it was in april/may and the third patch wasnt out
yet. since I left at least as Im not clear on when you did.

the game is much improved IMO now some would say im forgiving
of it but I dont think so. the patch still missed a little it seems here
and there but the game is by and large completely functional
enhanced by some tremendous mods that have evolved from before
as well as new ones.

I think at the top of the Heap you will find
Trigger Maru or Real Fleat Boat and sobers super mod
as well as the Run Silent Run Deep Campaign mod
and the absolutely Vivid and Spectacular Reflections
on Water mod a Continuation of the work of the unfortunate
Leo Vampires living breathing ocean.

Note: the shiv threads were rocked this week when it was discovered
that Leovampire/Dave had suffered a serious and debilitating stroke.

none the less the state of the game is better than ever
and the potential for improvement later on remains huge.
that last statement is bolstered by the fact that Ubi still
has almost half a year left with payed devs dedicated to
shiv on the ubi page they hint that not all the fixes are in
and they are interested in releasing a uboat add on to shiv
and may be willing to respond to the communities cry for
wolfpacks.

regards
M

Welcome back. Some sympathy and some empathy may or may not help, but you get them both from me anyway. I haven't been able to play anything for a year-and-a-half now, so I'm missing SH3 tremendously, and I've never played SH4.

Not trying to tell you anything, just let you know that there are others of us who share your predicament. Hope it works out soon.

That is awful news. My prayers are with Dave and his family.

I haven't been on the boards since before Turkey day. Thanks for the Welcomes and the info. Seems this is a bad month for many of us, as my uncle has Colon cancer. He is strong though and I know he will pull through it. Hopefully this new year will bring good news for us all instead of bad news. Take it easy all and I hope everyones new year is a good one. Be back later
