Default Sonar ping as ringtone

I am looking for a ring tone with a sonar ping as in SHIII but haven't found one yet.

I assume there must be others who have it already so could anyone point me in the right direction.

I am looking for a closing pinging sound, like ping ping ping ping ping ping ping ping.

Furthermore I wonder if anyone has made a ringtone of an ALARM! sound and the bell sound like in Das Boot? I would love to have that one as well.

Thank you in advance

I take your phone can record sound? Right, then just play the file on your PC you want as your ringtone & record it. That's the way I got my sonar ping.

Dowly, once recorded, how do you get it to your ringtone files? That is what always screwed me up!

Dont know what phone you got, but Nokia phones can play the recorded audio straight away, just by picking the option "use as ringtone".

Unfortunately not all phones can do it - my samsung allows me to use the 'diving stations' mp3 I got from a submariner mate as a ringtone, but I can't use MP3s for text alerts.

It is a Motorola. It can record but I could never figure out how to attach it for ringtone. Maybe it can't.

For the Samsung, the text ring tones must be in .mmf format. In the internet there are freeware converters of mp3 to many of the files types used by mobile phones.

I have samsung with the alarm sequence for ring tone, in mp3 and the new message received in german from the sh3 gwx in mmf. I would like to have the sonar ping also.

I have a SonyEricsson and I can just transfer MP3s to my phone using Bluetooth. I've got a WWII US submarine diving klaxon as my SMS alert...scares the life out of me when it goes off!

depends what Motorola youve got , Ive got a V3 razr and all you need to do is go to "MY FIles/My Music" (Or Voice Notes if youve recorded it that way) select the file then "Options/Apply as" and there you go.If it can play MP3's then you should be able to have anything you load in or record as a ringtone.

Thanks for the suggestions. I guess I output the audiosounds as mp3 and split them and send them to the phone.

What we don't do for the real sub feeling :rotfl:

Nah, it is a run of the mill i560. I'm not big on cellphones that have a lot of stuff on it. I just want to make a phone call. I hate the thing anyway.
