Default Awesome!!!!

Thanks for the great shots. SH4 is good but look how far we have to go! I'd say we're about halfway to photo-reality.

Didn't the devs visit Pampanito some time before SH4 release?

Ah, they did, with Neal too!

So perhaps the resemblance is not incidental :p

Yeah, she is a real beauty! I visited her in 2005 and I was very pleased with the museum and staff. The old lady is lovingly cared for by a great group of people. Not what I was expecting in liberal, anti-military San Freako! The coolest thing about the museum is that there is no guided tour. They just turn you loose with a headset audio tour and let you run wild. I spent more than two hours exploring her from stem to stern. I even got to watch one of her "crew" crawl beneath the floor between the diesels and change a lightbulb. There is not a lot of room down there! The only downside is that I couldnt go into the conning tower. They had it roped off since their lawyers probably dont like the public climbing the ladder from the control room. It was a blast. Every time I play SHIV it is awesome to see what a great job the devs did in recreating that control room!

By the way, recently (YES RECENTLY) the Pampanito got a refit! See, Ducimus is right, refits do happen. Even in 2006!

Deck gun when I visited in '05:

Deck gun after her refit in '06. I wonder where she was patrolling to earn it! :hmm:

Here are some more pics! Dont you wish we had this room!

More goodies

More pics to follow...

I guess they should have made SH4 an open boat where we run around inside and shoot each other a 1000 times. They seem to handle those games with numerous patches. --Longam UBI SHIV Forums

A sad day has dawned...

WELCOME ABOARD!

A Mk 14 I presume...

Magnetic Pistol gear. If the boys only knew what we know now they would have unplugged these! Depth sensors are also present.

It was fun to sit here...

Depth sounding gear. Too bad the devs didnt model this...

What a day it was.
MAY SHE LIVE FOREVER!!!
