Do you mean the effect of the water splashing off the scope lense? Why would you want to get rid of that? That is a RL feature

i find it a very annoying effect when i am trying to enjoy the game. its cool the first time you see it but it got old after that. i got some help from the other forum side and i have a way now to reduce the effect to near transparency or any stage in between or get rid of it all together.

i dont find it all like real life. i used to scuba dive and that effect never happened at all when going from under water to surface...

the file underwater_disp_map.dds is the file that controls the transparancy of the blur effect. i used a program called paint.net to directly edit that file and adjust the properties of the image to lighten or darken it. removing the file altogether removes the effect but you get a ghost image of the target in the upper left corner for a half second. and the game will crash whenyou exit if that file isnt there. so i chose to go the route of lightening it up so much it pretty much disapeared.

at that point you an see that a different file controls the the wavy image effect which i havent found yet. but im still looking. basically there is a setting somewhere else that offsets the image then calls the blur effect. it gives that wierd unrealistic blurring and wavy image that doesnt exist in real life.
