Hi,
after installing 1.4 i started a new career and enjoyed sailing the pacific waters (thanks for the great ROW-Enhancements, btw). I was lucky and found a large carrier-task force (4 carriers, 1BB and a lot of cruisers) off the solomons. And lucky I got one flattop and damaged anotherone (funny: 3 hits on Akagi did nothing recognizable to her, but 1 hit on Shokaku and it was gone ;-)). With nearly all torps spent I turned round and evaded the escorts until i was far away to resurface. Then I got a bit overestimating and decided to make a second run to use my remaining 2 torps on the scratched Akagi. So I turned round again and tried to get it running flank. Well, what can I say - I was a bit uncareful and increased timecompression to 32x... the problem was : It was sunrise... and soon the escorts spotted me and started firing. But i recognized that after having been hit for about 5 or 6 times... well, yes I got sunk... damn... my first flattop in carreer-mode and i have no savegame :-) But the question is : Why does'nt timecompression reset to normal when under attack? Or is there a mod for that? Regards, Heiko |

mmh... perhaps it did... but definitely not after the first shell was fired in my direction - my ship was really wrecked when timecompression was back to normal (but in panic I hit the keyboard wildly...i cannot for sure say if i reset it or the sim itself ;-))

im findin TC doesnt work to well above 1500x. i tend to start careers early war before radar and whenever i go above 1500x ships will be spotted but by the time its snaps back to real time the contact is well gone
not really a big issue though as when im in enemy waters 1500x is fast enough. its a massive improvement over SH3 where anything above 256x would cause similar problems |

I'm having the time compression bug as well - playing a sugar boat from the early war around the philipines, it simply doesn't reset to 1 or x8 when a ship is sighted. I blast past them at 1024 or 4096 and it's almost impossible to find any ships at all this way. I have to sit with the finger on the 'reset to x1' key and not run too high time compression to have any chance at actually checking out my contacts. I guess I better switch to a radar sub.
