Default Nearest Visual contact??

Hi,

I am a very new SH4 skipper. Is there a key stroke or any other way to get the deck crew to indicate what the nearest visual contact is like in SH3??

Sorry, no, there is no button. Sorely missed as well. Nothing like, 'Ship spotted!' OK, were is it? Silence.

I think Trigger Maru has implemented this but not sure.

Yes the handle for this command still exists, and you can call on it if you map a keyboard command to it in the commands.cfg

Just FYI, this is NOT A SUPPORTED FEATURE from the developers. My assumption is, if they intended us to use it, they'd have mapped it. I say this because it is NOT included in the latest metric/imperial conversions by the patch. It still gives its feedback in feet, not yards.

Well hell Duci, I would be satisfied if they would just give the bearing when he sees the darn target. I do not need to know how far off the target is. I mean really, 'Ship spotted!'......'ok Capt, my job is done. Going below now, bye bye.' I have spent many times popping up on the bridge and having to pan around looking for the target. Meanwhile the lookout is on the cigarette deck taking a union break.
