Default question on werners sonar video

Werner gets his first reading of bearing 325 and says that it is 35 degrees to port, how do you figure that out, what is the math to do that or if there is a chart i can print to look at would be great, anyone have something that shows this info it would greatly help me out, thanks all.

you have to subtract the bearing you have from 360.

So in this case 360 - 325 = 35

The protractor only shows 180 degrees. So if the target is to your right u can just use the bearing that you get. If the target is to your left then you need to subtract the target bearing from 360.
