I can understand how some people wouldn't like the series but personally I love them. Jumping into a car and just speeding around a city in a free play style is just fun.
Anyway, the new GTA looks like it will easily out-class all previous titles. Graphics and gameplay are changing for the better, it won't be such a basic console style game and you'll have to be a bit more careful when jumping into cars. Now the police can notice that it's stolen. The only problem is the PC edition hasn't been announced. I'm sure they'll port it over but it looks like Rockstar wants you to buy it on console first. A good site for info can be found here: http://www.gta4.tv/ Pedestrian Interaction
Niko now can use the mobile phone. This will be use to make calls to contacts and such. Game Informer describes the new phone as such: "Bellic then pulls out his cellphone, which has options for Phonebook, Messages, Organizer, and Camera on its LCD screen. He selects Phonebook, and he is then presented with another set of options: City Contact, Docks Friend, and Cab Contact." Your mobile phone acts as a calendar, a vessel for text messages, an alarm and even a camera.- Niko Bellic uses his mobile phone and the Internet, on regular basis. Niko mobile phone is a phone, messenger, Organizer, photo camera and GPS - all in one. The map will have GPS, which shows you the best way (will be colored in Yellow) towards your target. If you’re in a mission, the map not only shows a symbol, but even a line with the best route. Niko doesn't have to accept phone calls if he doesn't want to, but if someone is intent on reaching him, they'll become increasingly annoyed. By the way, the name of the cell network is Whiz. Internet Niko can use the internet in GTA4. He heads over to an internet café called the "Tw@ Café," and hops onto a PC before surfing. The web is available from any computer in the game, and provides a hub for all sorts of interactivity within Liberty City. It costs a dollar to get online and is totally wireless. Niko has his own account that is accessible from any computer in the city. Inside the cafe, all terminals are neatly laid out and it is basically the same as a standard looking Cyber cafe. The Tw@ Cafe is located in Algonquin near Middle Park. Pressing LB will make Niko sit down on the terminal, once sat at the terminal, the screen is displayed, as you would see it on your monitor. You can control the (mouser) pointer with the analogue stick of the Xbox 360 controller. R* asked the reporters not to write about some of the web addresses that appeared while browsing GTA's quirky version of the web, "because it's still stuff that's being worked on at the moment"; interestingly they checked out some of the domain names they noted down on WHOIS and none are registered by Take 2 yet. Did they stole the whole phone thing from Scarface or was it present in one of the mobile GTA games?

Been playing the series from the very first top-down view GTA and just love it. I still think the GTA 1 & 2 are the best ones, they had the kind of sick mood in them, like the Elvis's walking on the street and you got bonus if you drove over all of them at the same time.

I've played some of GTAIII but not much. I really have been playing the series since Vice City (still my favorite). I like all the stuff you could do in SA, but I hated the storyline. I really look forward to GTAIV. Now I just need to scrounge up the $$$ it will take to get a PS3. I doubt my computer will be able to play the PC version.

I agree that GTA 1 and 2 are the best of the series.

I love GTA and GTAIV is one the few reasons that i brought a PS3. And the PS3 is one of the major reasons why im buying a new 42 inch fully hd lcd tv. God its a viscous circle.

San Andreas is on my 'favorites of all time' list. IV sounds just as awesome.
No PC, eh?

The police blob and the trunk storage are in Scarface aswell, as is the "taxi" feature, though it's a Limo, not a cab.
I guess Scarface ripped everything off GTA, so Rockstar is giving them a nice payback by ripping the game, with the improved features, back again.

It'll be released on PC eventually, I just hope I don't have to wait half a year for it.

@Reaves, they better work a half year on it, or else you get a half done rapidly converted PS3 version which gameplay is just a mess on a PC.
seen that happen to some PS2 titles that came for the PC.

Yeah i've seen it happen a few times in previous games, GTA ports are normally pretty low quality with very bad joystick support. You can use a steering wheel but need a third party program to get the pedals to work....
