Here are some whitleys from GWX 1.04
Viscious buggers they are too! they'll give you a taste of 1943 in 1941 if you let them get close enough. :p

Other Allied Planes i would still quite like to seen in SH3 are the Blenhiem, Fairly Battle, B25 Michell and possibly a B18 bolo... Hardly essential, but we will see.
I think 1.04 has included every known plane that ever sank 1 or more Uboats except for the Bolo.

Great to hear, but... anyone got a single Whitley version, so I don't need to load full GMX ? @denis overworked versions would be fine

Serg has a whitley in his airmod 2 - but like gwx 1.04 its not been released yet, anyway, even if we or someome did release the whitley as a standalone aircraft (which we wont Im afraid) you'd still have to script in to the campaign before you can get them to appear....

@Denis, sorry ill get it right from now on!

An IJAAF fighter, and indeed the most common IJAAF fighter. If you ever expected to see a japanese army fighter as a sub, this would be the one. OTOH, while they could carry bombs, they'd not be tasked to ASW patrol, well, ever. So any you saw should be en route someplace else (if they have bombs in game and see you they will attack). So it'd be eye candy, but honestly they should mostly be armed just their 2 12.7mm MGs. (effectively unarmed)

Saw service in all theaters. Not a likely candidate for ASW patrol, however. If they were actually bombed up, you'd expect to see and entire squadron going to bomb a specific target.

I took it as denis asking if they were useful plane additions. Since I assume a plane is a fair bit of work, I was trying to make his life easier (ie: don't spend a huge amount of work on a plane that would never realistically be seen at sea). So no discouragement was meant in the least, just helpful commentary to focus what must be a large amount of work.

BTW, I should have added the Swedes used P-35s, too, and the P-35 would also double nearly perfectly (with a different paint job) for the Re 2000 (Italian). The Re 2000 was also used by the swedes I believe. I assume the Re 2000 at the very least might prove quite useful for the Med, though I'm not sure if they were ever used as fighter bombers.

The Ki-43 would be the single best IJArmyAF (as opposed to IJNavyF) plane to do, as it was by far their most common type. The only issue with it as a plane for SH, is that it was only very rarely armed with bombs, and the pathological rivalry between the IJA and IJN meant that there was little chance of seeing cooperative ASW. ASW was the IJN's bailiwick, even if they never paid it much attention. At least it is actually capable of hauling 2x250kg bombs, unlike the SH4 Zero, which shouldn't have any of the available bombs at all (and only 2 little 60kg bombs very very rarely).

Anyway, my only point was that if he was going to go to great effort on planes, the better ones to pick might be those most likely to be seen at sea attacking submarines. If making planes is easy, then by all means, add more

Kind of like if deepiron and I made riverboats that virtually never put out to sea. He'd make the ships, I'd put them in the campaign plying the chinese rivers... and no one would ever see them
