Default Paul Potts is "The Man"

okay really old news, but new to me just discovered him last night while looking at youtube vids for someone to make fun off at their talent Came across this Paul Potts ahh a talent quest singer this should be a good laugh - yep he even looks like a failure, oh boy this is gonna be funny.

Then i start the vid and heard him sing.... My jaw dropped to the floor so to speak, this guy has got talent, he is the man, he rocks. Hes an inspiration to all of us, goes to show just how many other pauls are out there with talent such as him.

*and i dont even like opera but i can watch this video over and over without getting sick of it.*

Go Paul you

Did he ever put out an album?

Yes, they broadcasted the first show where he surprised the audience and the casting team for the first time. Looks like a looser, but surely sounds like a winner. I was very impressed, maybe even a bit moved, although usually not liking opera and classical singing myself. Also his biography of having dreamed his dream - for years, spending all free income on it, living with very limited money - he spend it all on singing lessons.

I do not see the danger that he will loose his sense for reality, or loosing ground under his feet.

Seems it pays all off for him, and I don't grudge him that!

Makes you wonder how many undiscovered talents are out there in the world, no matter what profession! Makes you wonder how many are just to shy, or not strong enough in self-respect, or do not get the chance due to established people blocking the market (especially in classical music a great problem). Makes you also wonder why a bitch like Britney spears and such people could get so much attention for the lousy "arts" of theirs. Life is not fair, and the bad guys too often gets the pretty ladies.

Undiscovered - Yes
Un-Trained - No

Paul Potts actually paid for tutoring lesson from Pavarotti. Pavarotti noticed his talent and tried to get Paul to continue his training fulltime, however, Potts didn't take the risk.

Still, with Simon Cowell behind him the only way Potts is going is up.:p

That remains to be seen, looking and listening into the CD, I must say his voice is good, his singing is competent, but the selection of tracks is a listing of populistic trivialities. Also, it deserves respect to have the courage to sing in front of a live audience at a casting show, but it is something very different to sing a 3 hours opera for a whole evening. He has a great talent, and made use of it to secure his living, but I doubt that he will stay around for longer. And if even he does not try to turn around his life and now start a longer and serious career, than I will not think bad of him and say that probably not going that way is the clever choice to make. The classical music business (no enagaging at theatre, but the CD market) is a battlefield. We have seen greater talents being rolled over, and many of them. The established artists sometimes even are worse than the necomers, nevertheless they are established, and they often use that influence within the industry brutally. Sad, but true.

Paul Pott's new single, yeah right! This man cannot disguise his true identity with such a simple alteration to his real name. I still recognise him as the leader of the Khmer Rouge:
