SH4: transparent crew on bridge

hello hunters..

just got sh4 uploaded and running. looks lovely too.

my problem is that i can see through the crew on the bridge. they are transparent.
i wonder if this is a known problem with a fix.
here is my system spec if this helps;
amd athlon 3800+ ( 2.41 ghz )
2 gig ram
nvid 7900 gt card.

i'm wondering if i have to change anything in the graphics dept. higher - lower that sort of thing.

many thanks

Have a look at this thread:http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...nt+crew+bridge

Some good comments regarding this there. To be honest I get this from time to time, but hardly notice anymore. There are just to many other great effects that this is not an issue.

You can correct the issue by disabling the environmental effects, but you won't have transparent water anymore.

The Devs have stated that there is no fix for this issue because of the way the crew is rendered into the scene.

Welcome Aboard, it seems to be related to environmental effects. There are several threads with the same conclusion this being one of them.

Edit:It seems we all posted at the same time.

As TDK stated. Unfixable but as it is a bit disconcerting after a while you do not focus on this minor issue.

Welcome aboard

Default .

Your eyesight is better than you thought. Just an experiment to see if you see as well as I do. If I concentrate real hard and recite aloud dialog from a Calvin and Hobbes comic strip I can see the sun through the conning tower!

Default Transparent Crew on Bridge SH4

I had same trouble with SH3 after installing graphics driver which came with my nVidia card. Had a lot of trouble but eventually downloaded an updated driver . Fixed! Even if you have to install an older driver don't worry. My nVidia 6600 card works very well with either 93.71 or 162.18 drivers (windows xp ). Good luck but it's only the video drivers doing it, relax.
