Default 220 Years Ago Today

The U.S. Constitution was signed by its framers. It didn't become law until ratified by 2/3 of the states a year later, but on September 17, 1787 it was, after months of deliberation and argument, finally agreed upon and finished.

Right on Steve Right on for Democracy ... Right on for Freedom At least we agreed that ...

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Thanks for the rememberance Steve....... The U.S. Constitution should be read by all in its entirety. So that people grasp its full meaning.............

Thks once again for great reads...do you happen to have a link to the constitution of Isreal at this time..or whatever set of rules/laws it is governed by...and not the Torah ...but wouldn't mind seeing that either.

just curious to see how other countries govern themselves.

Israel has no constitution. No time now for an in-depth post on the subject.

Thanks for the link, Ms. Lady. It was a well-written article, if a little short for my tastes (but then I like ready 3500-page biographies, so my judgement should not perhaps be embraced by the majority).
