what are these two files for? Am I suppose to unzip them somewhere or just leave them alone? |

Are they mods? Open them with winrar (or similar) and see what they are for.
I don't have them neither in my folder. |

yes, they are mods...dang, I am just plain scared of these mods. I never know where all of the pieces go & I always screw up my system when I try to use them. Don't tell me to make backup of files before moding because I don't know what to back up or actually even how to back something up.
Guys are very nice to send me stuff that is suppose to help things work better, but I just am not able to get it to work. I havae some mods that I put in the mods folder in sh3 & suppose to open it through that commandeer thing, but they still don't work so I know that I don't have them put in their correct places. |

Click the JSGME icon in the SHIII folder to activate/de-activate mods.

When you download mods from the community, they are archived by 7-zip, WinRAR or Winzip (to name a few). This compresses the data and makes it easier to share. After the download completes, you have a zipped folder which contains the mod you wanted. You now need to extract/unzip the mod to be able to use it. Then you can put the mod into JSGME's MODS folder and activate it.
After the extraction process, the folder structure should look like this: Greatest Mod Ever > data > .................. Sometimes, there is an extra folder created. Just make sure that when you double click on the mods folder name, the first folder you see after that is called 'data'. ![]() Computer 101 is over, next week we shall discuss........... ![]() ![]() ![]()

Danlisa...Thank you. That is the best, simplest explanation of "how to do it" I have ever seen.
I checked all of my mod files in the "MODS" folder & a couple of those folders had two folders in them. when I opened those folders they had a data folder in them so I just moved those folders into the main mods folder with the rest & now they show up in that jasme thing just fine. I'm just all-a-shivvers waiting for computer 102 next week...lol..thanks |
