Default How many torps to sink ships

some where in this forum there was a document or file detailing how many torpedoes are needed to sink ships.
Can somebody point me to the thread please.

Assuming you're running TM1.6, which includes NSM if I remember correctly, the following applies (taken from the NSM thread, first post)

Recomended amount of torpedoes and observed sinking times:
  1. Small Merchants: 1 (5-10 min)
  2. Medium Merchants 1-2 (10-20 min)
  3. Large Cargo Ships 2-4 (15-30 min)
  4. Fuel/Ammo Cargo 1 (instant, less then 5 min)
  5. Destroyers 1-2 (10 min)
  6. Light Cruisers 2-3 (20-45 min, or instant on critical)
  7. Heavy Cruisers 2-5 (20-60 min, or instant on critical)
  8. Carriers 3-5 (30-90 min, or instant on critical)
  9. battleships 4-12 (20 min - up to several hours, or instant on critical)

What is interesting to me is the recommended number of torpedoes, including three for a destroyer. Even more interesting is the general comment "It is the opinion of most submarine officers that any combatant ship is worth a full nest torpedo salvo."
