Game freezes at loading missions.

Hi, I'm new here as well as new to SHIII. Bought it earlier today, installed, added the GWX megamod, overrode the resolution and ran it. The game loads, the menu appears, I'm able to change the options etc. The problem appears as soon as I try to run anything else than the Naval Academy. The NA loads and works just fine. But when I try to play a custom mission or view the Museum the game freezes. It displays the loading screen, fills up the bar to approximately 90% and then completely freezes. The HDD works for about 15 seconds after the freeze and then stops as well. I'm only able to exit the game by ALT CTRL DEL and it displays the game's status as not responding. I'm only able to shut down the process and start again, but it doesn't change anything. Any clues?

The game version is 1.4 PL.

My system: C2D 2.0GHz, 2GB DDR2, ASUS P5B Deluxe, Nvidia 8600GTS all complete with WinXP PRO SP2 and the latest drivers. Please help me enjoy this great game.

Welcome to Subsim.

...and just wait longer.

GWX has almost doubled the content in SH3 and as such the load times have increased dramatically. Load times can be between 3-7mins and the first load is the longest.

The reason why the Training missions load so fast is because they do not contain the full campaign information.

My advice, start loading and then watch a bit of TV or get a drink. It will load. You won't regret it.

LOL, just imagine what the load times would be like if the file structures were left as stock.

You could probably wait 30mins before it would load.

A relief. You were right. It loaded pretty quickly though... after I stopped panicking

That's not what You expect from a newly bought game. Still it kicks ass.

BTW, if SH3/GWX does stop responding at loading, it will CTD. So if it doesn't, it's working.
