I've done this, but only once, out of some 15 attempts! Any ideas?

C'mon guys, there must be someone out there with a trick up their sleeve!!! I'm doing the Sub Hunt mission, have sunk 70000tonnes so far, including battleship, and I'm in a plum spot to drill the cruiser.
I can hit it twice with no problem at all from as close as I dare, but in spite of an outbreak of fire (depending on where I hit it - aft of stacks seems good) the ship keeps going - with the exception of one strike. Unfortunately I didn't save that game! |

Nothing like having a forum with yourself!
I've done it. First one aft of the stacks (well aft, but not quite stern), second one forward (near the last stack) of the first stricke - generated immediate secondary explosion. |
