Default manual range estimation

The so-called manual states you can estimate range by using the periscope recticle. However, I am unaware or any way to enter a range estimation into the TDC except by using the split image button. Is there a way to enter the range estimation manually? Thanks! Joe S

Yes -- it involves counting the periscope marks the target occupies vertically. There's some math involved afterwards, which I do not know. I did notice that a PDF recognition manual DID have such marks - to - meters estimates listed.

I think it can be done. I did it twice... But you must not enable PK and do not identify ship. Then just click on the rotating part of range selector and drag it. Do not enable PK, do not identify ship, do not press stadimeter button. Just rotate range knob.

Maybe I'm wrong, because I'm newbie, if so - sorry.

I tried that last night. It works with ranges up to 1241 yards. I could not figure out how to drag the range ring to greater ranges.

Weird... I remember, that somehow I set range about 2500 metres. It's 2.5km = 2734 yards. :hmm:

And I hit the tartget.

I too am frustrated by the odd maximum range you can set manually. There's plenty more dial left but it just won't move any higher!
