Default had an unpleasant suprise last night

got close to a convoy, and there it was. they can't just rol off the stern. noooooo, they have to throw then to either side now. the DCs came close enuff the rock the boat, but no damage was sustained. got me 3 DDs, plus one left dead in the water and burning, and 2 freighters. 1.3 DDs do seem a bit more aggresive, but the can still be evaded

I attacked a convoy in the Sea of Japan (1944) and the destroyers headed right to me, since I was still at PD lining up my stern tubes. After firing my last fish I headed for the deep, but one of the destroyers made a run and damaged my stern with a depth charge. I hit three ships and sank two from the convoy (Couple torpedoes aimed at a big tanker missed, but hit a smaller ship in a far column) but after I got beneath a thermal layer the DDs had a hard time locating me. I got flooding under control and after getting back to PD I found that one escort had continued on with the remaining convoy ships while three DDs stayed behind to look for me. Of course, I gave them the slip, but this was much better than the "milling around" behavior of convoys and escorts from previous versions.

I remember the first time I came accross a tosser. I was like how in the heck !

I dont know if you ever played SH3 but they had these things called hedghogs now you want to talk about nightmare !

The hogs were thrown in FRONT ! of the boat in a circular pattern so that they could maintain sonar contact while depth charging !!! To make things even worse the hogs detonated on contact !

My current carrier (SH4) is pretty late into the war now and havent seen hedge hogs as yet.

I had forgotten about the "Hedge Hogs" as I am in late SH4 43' and haven't seen any. Probably something good again that was left out?

Pretty sure the Japanese never developed an ASW weapon similar to the hedgehog.

Someone could always correct me though.

The Japanese did not possess a hedgehog type ASW.

Guess that puts a little daylight on why I have not seen any.

Thanks mookiemookie.
