Oberleutnant Rudolf Strassen has retired after 8 patrols with 340 days at sea in only 8 patrols
credited with 39 sinkings and around 280000 tons sunk
the retirement is well deserved

Lt. Karl von Brockdorff
2nd Patrol, Reporting from U-187, October 1939, west of Ireland, leaving Patrol grid AN19. Utterly horrendous weather, cant see more then 100 metres ahead. Approx 110,000 tons sunk including HMS Hood.

Returning to base as we have only 2 torpedoes left. Going to pass North to avoid mines & destroyers for a peaceful return sail and perhaps some stray merchants for some deck gun practice, weather permitting.

that brings me to a question.... will this mean that the bismarck will continue to roam the seas even after the date it was blown up in real life?

well i must say that this has come as somewhat of a disappointment

this game is capable of so much they could have at least made it remember when a ship sinks to the bottom of the atlantic... this is officially my only gripe with the game now

SH2 had somthing like that
recently someone at the 4th kriegsmarine division (see the link on my sig) loughed about the tonnage i sank. it was like "did the brits had more than 2.000.000 tons of ships? or 2 Hood's ? and what about the houndreds of DD's you sank?"

if the game was like "this ship is destroyed so it is gone" then the brits had lost the war
