Hi everyone
I am new to sh4 and this is my first post, be gentle please I started a career around luzon based out of manila and have been patrolling for about 2 weeks and every day the weather is calm blue skies and I am getting hassled constantly by enemy aircraft. WHY? Is this a bug? Cheers Andy |

Nope. The weather depends on what time of year it is and the aircraft, while a little omnipresent, are normal if you are in range of a base or carrier.
Run submerged during the day at 2 kts. JCC |

I bet they do but surely some variation in the weather should be expected. Even one or two clouds, a change of wind direction also where are the sunrise sunset times and weather info that i found so usefull in sh1?
Thanks Andy |

yup. Play the game long enough and you will see every kind of weather there is and no matter what the weather is, you'll be wishing it will change, and when it changes, you be wishing it will change.
If you add a key sequence to the Commands.cfg file so you will get weather reports, you will see that even with what appears to be clear weather, the wind direction and speed changes once in a while. It's the wind speed that determins how high the waves are. If the wind speed doesn't change (once it has increase to the point where the wave action is increased) the wave height will still increase a bit more over time. "...You're damn skippy they do, I've had virtually the direct opposite to the OP, I nearly have resurface right under targets to get a half decent shot off!!!..."
You don't have to approach the target at pariscope depth. Raise the boat up a bit and get more scope height. The high waves will still help to hide you from an unaware enemy. Just be careful not to leave the scope at full height all the time. Only raise your depth just enough to get a glance at the target once in a while. Just long enough to keep TDC updated. And if you don't know, the attack scope is higher (and slimmer) than the O scope so only use that near enemy. -Pv- |
