I've been trying my hand at some graphics mods, and have come to the conclusion that the software that came with my digital camera isn't quite good enough to play with alpha channels, masks, and complex graphics. I've tried free trials of Adobe and Corel software as well. For the modders out there - what graphics programs do you recommend for creating skins, editing menu tga's (such as the map, periscope views, etc)? Appreciate any recommendations - thanks.

Adobe Photoshop if you`ve got cash that needs spending (get the full version, not that Elements crud!).
I find it more user friendly than GIMP. |

Flakmonkey, Pontius - thanks for the advice. I'll give Gimp a try. I used a trial version of the Adobe Photoshop Elements and found a lot of features missing (to be expected given the price). I guess I'll see if there's a trial version of the full one, too, and compare them both.
