GWX standard sub icon?

Sorry if this is something painfully obvious.

There are a couple things in GWX that I'd like to rollback to standard...

1) When you zoom in on the nav map I would prefer to use the standard sub icon. That modded one (the giant compass thing) is just too busy and for me it's always off by a couple degrees anyway . I find it's more in the way than helpful so I'd like to set that one back to normal.

2) I want to put back the submerged icon (yes that orange marker that no one else seems to like)

Is it just a couple simple files I have to overwrite?

Replace the Umark tga with the one from your stock game

I think (can't check at the moment, away from my install) there is a bearing.tga file which will actually, if deleted, remove the current version. This will either just leave a graphic of the sub or default back to the original.

The easiest was to find the correct file as to search the stock verison of SH3 for all TGA files, it's probably in the textures folder or the individual U-Boat folders. GWX maybe a little harder as, if the bearing.tga is packed into individual U-Boat dats, you will need to swap them out.

Also check in the menu > gui folders. It's one of those nagging feelings.....

In short, just search & view all TGA files.

BTW, if you didn't know already, there is a windows plugin which will enable you to view TGA files as thumbnails in explorer without having to open them in a 3rd party graphics suite. http://greggman.com/pages/thumbplug_tga.htm

Its the NSS_Uboat**_shp file
Replace the one in GWX with the one fom stock

The GWX 7b one is 10mb and the stock one is 2 kb

They are in the C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Submarine folder

Change the one needed in the sub folder ou want
Or all of them

Thanks BBW.

BTW the reason it's so large is because it's a higer rez (or should be) with a HUGE alpha channel. Infact, I tried editing the file not too long ago and any changes caused the TGA to exceed 100mb.

Note to self, must try to stop answering q's from memory.

I use the one from NYGM. I made it JSGME capable also along with the UMark.tga file. I've also found how to change the default sub icon when you are zoomed out on the map.
