Default Periscope mod idea

In the periscope when you zoom in and out, the image just gets larger or smaller...

is it possible to mod the periscope view so that the image appears to "slide up" revelaing the larger image as if the lense was being changed internally... and then again when zooming out the smaller image slides back down.

for anyone who has had an eye exam for glasses knows what i mean, when they have you look through that device and the doctor changes the lense you can see it slide up with a "click" revelaing a new image.

Is this something that periscopes were known to do?

for example watch the 2:15 second clip of this video, then again at 2:54

I don't see a possible way of doing this since the two zoom levels are hard coded (in a file). It is possible to change the zoom levels though but not to have it advance through the lower zoom level to the highest in a movie like fashion. It's either the low zoom or high zoom. If we had an SDK for SHIII we could probably do it.
