Stupidly simple explanations.
I was reading an article on the BBC and followed a link to a section of law.
Where it reads An extreme pornographic image is an image which is both (a) pornographic, and (b) an extreme image. Wow you don't say. Just in case you are thinking I am a nut I happened to be reading this story http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/sussex/6265376.stm Any other cases of seemingly obvious explanations. I do understand in this example that there is further explanation and it is a legal explanation so needs to be idiot proof.

When you say "stupidly simple explanations", do you mean explanations that are:
(a) stupid, and (b) simple. ?

I work in the book trade and I know some dumb questions and statements.
My favorite I'm after a book but I can't remember the title or author. It's got blue on the cover though.  and Me: Would you like a bag with that? Customer: No thanks, I'll save a tree. Me:  (Thinks about the fact that while bad for land fill a plastic bag is not made from trees.) You'd be amazed how often I get both of those.

My dad told me once that when he was young he looked in a dictionary at his school for the definition of a Crow:
Crow. n. A large Raven. So he looked up the definition of Raven: Raven. n. A small Crow. |
