Many of you seem to be mistakenly thinking that it is taking so long for the third patch to get released because the developer decided to spend more time with the 3rd patch in an effort to really fix things for good. Well, wake up and smell the coffee folks. It is going to take a long time to get the 3rd patch because the majority of the development team have been reasigned by this time in the game's life cycle. There are probably about 1/3 of the people working on the upcoming 3rd patch than there were working on the 1st and 2nd patches. The game is as good as done as far as UBI is concerned, so the 3rd patch is priority #1 for you, and priority #400,302 or so for UBI.

Don't get your hopes up to far as far as the 3rd patch fixing everything just because it takes them a long time to get it released.

While this patch won't fix everything for everyone, it will be a substantial patch that will resolve critical game play issues. I understand that it also has one or two nice touches that, while not being critical, help to enhance the game.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon

Don't take my post in the wrong way. I am looking forward to the 3rd patch myself. I am also aware that it is going to fix things for the better, and add some new stuff. I would also put myself in the group of people who are pretty well pleased with Silent Hunter IV even today. I think the game is a great game, I enjoy playing it very well, and I love the Silent Hunter series all the way around.

I have just noticed several posts that appear to say that the developers are going to take a long time to get this final patch out because it is going to be such a huge patch that will fix every single bug the game has. This is simply not the case. The developers themselves told us that most of the team has been reassigned to other jobs and there is only a very small portion of them still left to work on the 3rd patch. This is why it is going to take so long to complete. Nothing more. So, just be aware that all of the bugs are not going away as soon as the 3rd patch comes out just because it took them so long to complete the third patch. Manage your expectations a little bit, that's all.

No problem. In all reality, fix the radar and make the TDC dead on accurate through correct measurements of the targets. That is it for me. Anything else is a bonus

I just hope the new features, if any, will not involve new bugs ...
