This is a really neat little mod - just looking at it from work. Does it change the % of ships on the routes - or the % of ships REPORTEd on the routes (IE - increasing the simulated radio contacts/intel updates?).

Thanks for any info.

Very Respectfully,
Notewire

Hello, notewire:

You can change for an x% of routes. You can type individualy for convoys, single ships and task forces how much % of routes you want to change. (or leave blank and do nothing for one or more type of routes). The tool will pick the routes to change for each type of route randomly, but the quantity always will be the % you typed.
Then for that routes will be assigned an x% random probability of getting report and a random time that must pass between each 'try to report', in minutes. You type for this two last settings a minimun and a max.

This changes are made to the routes with 0 probability of report, but if you check 'Write new for' and the type of route, the program will change to new probs. those routes with game default possitive assigned values.

Also there is an option, to increase (or decrease, but it is not tested) the probability of routes to spawn (the prob. of the routes to leave port, this not changes report prob.) but of course there will be at sea more ships, increasing the reports (really i dont know if this works correctly in the file it says: 'Spawn probability = xx', i think is that).

When you find your numbers, it is recommended that, between patrols you restore the file to its original, and run the tool again, this way maybe you can encounter something new on every patrol.

I hope this can help you.
Greetings.

I dont like the default single ships report behaviour, i want convoys and task forces, and less reports of single ships. A lot of patrols in original settings i came back to base sinking around 30.000 of non escorted ships, without a fight, in this case i prefer a lot fewer contacts on single ships.

Another thing for all:
I want to see subs! (if this possible? :hmm: ), if any of you have an idea how to add subs and it is not too hard i can retouch the tool to make subs appear.

I have no GWX yet, but I think yes it would work.
And no need to restart carreer, just dont load an in-mission while changing the settings.
Ive done 5 patrols in the same carreer modifying with the tool without crashes or something, more, it is best that you run the tool again after patrols (restoring the original first).

No it's Superman alright! You may pick him up later in the war if you have radar, but if you blink at the wrong time you'll miss him!

Default HELP ME

I think i need a BIG help here...

I wanna use this mod. I use Sh3 commander to start my game, then i use sh3 commander at the end to rollback stuff.

So far so good, but how do I use this MOD without ruining my installation in case i pick bad %´s ??

Still wanna use sh3 commander + gwx. DO i run this MOD before sh3 commander , and then i rollback the opposite sequence that ´roll fwd´ ?? like, roll back commander 1st and then roll back his new mod ??

Can someone show me the way out of this dark room of ignorance ???

I am not sure, but since this changes the RND file, I would suggest you run it before SH3CMDR and everything should be all right.
If you roll back CMDR after every game, yoy can then reverse the changes in The mod without a problem.
There is a restore button on the more contacts mod.
I haven't been able to test it yet since I am testing a few other things (1.04 etc), but if you follow this protocol it should work OK

Hello,
Maybe you need to try different numbers before you feel good about the reports, when you find numbers that you like, It is better between patrols, to run the tool again (restoring first) this way you keep where contacts are made very random.

its better to install all you want first just in case, then run it, you can restore the original file with the button later. Dont backup a modified file (you will lost the original) or better keep a copy made by you safe. The file is:
C:\ProgramFiles\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Campa igns\Campaign\Campaign_RND.mis

If sh3 commander or other mod make modifications to that file periodically, of course you cant restore to the original without losing sh3 commander modifications.

-----------------------------

Im thinking in the idea of adding subs and superman (sub launched atomic missiles better), but i need to study the game too much.

Oh, i was rat im now nub
God bless.

Nicolas:
For the last 2 nights, I have been testing this extensively, and I find it to be a great tool!!
For better results, I use the contacts.cfg file of the Spy Sat mod for GWx 1.03
and all I can say that it's great indeed.
Thank you very much Nicolas....

You welcome.
I think the best of it is that you can customize at your liking the speed of the game in patrols.

Just to test, I set this values, thinking that it might be to much, but to my surprise, it was not. I like to hunt convoys nad tskforces, so i have them at max, but for single ships it's a very reasonable ammount displayed with these values. Try and make some experiments until you find the ammount of contacts you feel comfortable with.
