What are they using for distance? Is it Kilometer's or Nautical miles? And does this totaly determin how far a mission point is from your Home base? Trying to figure out why from a base like Fremantle they are sending me all the way to the Formosa Straits for a first Mission point and why I never get a Solomons or Bismark Sea mission or Jawa sea or Sulu Sea and so forth. Always much further North. |

This is pretty interesting. It would make a lot of sense. The game seems full of values that look like they control stuff that are all set to "default."
Every single mission has an inclusion % of 100, for example. If you are right, the distance would control which missions were pulled simply based on distance from home base. Very useful for making a better campaign. Of course the missions are also enumerated in the flotilla file, right? |

Ya but Tater I think it also goes by possition. Another words after you complete a mission and you do a status report it then goes by distance to that possition for the next pic of missions. But I have a sinking feeling that when your in base that distance dosn't matter other wise from Pearl the only first missions available would be the Marshalls then once you do that and report in then it would pick something within that distance you set. Like I have to be around the Palau Islands when I send a status report to get a mission around the Bismark sea or maybe a picture taking mission in Rabaul. Then once I am done there I might get a mission for the Solomons. But I think from Port it goes by the Flotilla missions file. So maybe you have to eliminate the missions that go far away from the Fremantle Flotilla and from the Brisbane Flotilla and just leave the one's that are closeer to base. Then once your out and about you would get others.
Of course this is all theory. Another words you leave the Pearl flotilla alone but you can change the one's for the Austrailia area. I am going to test this and see what happens. BTW thanks Julius Caesar for the info |
