Moin moin, Alle,
Now that I'm finally getting my all-Deutsch Game Commander template done, I wonder if the supermods (GWX, NYGM, etc.) use a modified version of "command_en.cfg" -- if not, that means I can put out a universal version sooner. Testing & tweaking take time, naturlich. Ja, it'll help if you speak German -- if you learned it from watching "Das Boot" a hundred times, that'll do. ![]() Gute Jagd u. Fette Beute!

Progress Report: I'm pleased with the way the German template works now... The tricky parts are the choice of words and the phonetic spelling, so that Game Commander interprets correctly & consistently. I think it'll be ready to release as early as next month -- that is, if there is any interest out there.
Ja, Game Commander costs money (more than SH3) but it is useful for other games, and it puts no noticeable strain on the computer while gaming. I know there is a freeware voice-app called Shoot, but I'm used to the GC interface and prefer it. If GWX does not alter the command_en.cfg file, terrific. If not, I'll wait until GWX 1.04 comes out, then work with that version's file, too. Points to note: Voice command isn't for everyone; if you run your speakers loud, crew voices or sound effects might be heard by GC. It helps to know the language, and to have a microphone with an on-off switch (esp. if you have to curse at the monitor). Headsets are ideal. You will still need the mouse for certain tasks, esp. on the map, but running the boat with spoken orders is wirklich toll, man. I'd just like to know who's interested in giving commands auf Deutsch. Danke!

More on extra features:
Thanks to SetKey, I'm able to add commands that normally you could only make by mouse: for ex., asking the Navigator for the weather report: "Wettermeldung, bitte" -- and ordering the LI, "Beide Maschinen!" when you need to switch out of charging mode on the surface. Also, one can order the course changed to the direction you're looking, which I think is sehr kuhl. BTW, "Sehrohr ausfahren" & "einfahren" is right now just for the Luftziel-Sehrohr; I figure when you're in the tower with your Angriff-Sehrohr, you'd raise & lower it manually. I have not yet tried commanding the gun crews entirely by voice. But that's what I still hope to achieve. Good to hear signs of interest! ![]()
