Great news indeed..

I would like to see the way the game handles life boats and downed pilots changed, but thats more a taste issue I suppose.

Oh, and the engine room smells more like the latrine, I have the latest drivers on my smells card...any other ideas??:hmm:

Default New BB in Patch 1.3

I assume it will be the modernized version (along the lines of the Colorado and Maryland, not the West Virginia). I wonder if the dev team has any more incomplete ships lying around which we may see someday.:hmm: Probably not though.

I'm pleased with the list and was one of the "sold outs" and "UBI mouthpieces" who was certain there would be a 1.3 patch.

" Why TOYOTA is the biggest car manufacter in the world....???

Because his bugfull cars? Or because his quality cars...???"

Not a good argument. T controls the parts put into the cars AND the mechanics building cars. PCs are built by Chaos Incorporated. OSes by Madness Systems, and operated by extremely knowlegable and competant rocket scientists who re-manufacture these miserable piles of circuits into raving miracle machines.

Batteries don't need to be "fixed." They are reasonably accurate as is. I have carefully tested this.

"The AI sinks us far too much as it is."

I don't know what game you are playing. I've not been hit by a DC yet. As is apparent from the WIP list, the AI needs a LOT of help.

Two important gameplay problems not on the 1.3 patch list:

1. Ships (merchants and warships) sinking too easily in storms. Have often seen entire convoys wiped out in storms.

2. Sub taking collision damage and eventually being destroyed when resting stationary on sea floor (for example.. while repairing). This was a bug carried over from SH3. Please fix this!

I commend the SH4 dev team for standing behind their product and continuing to patch it. I think they have restored my faith in SH4. Thank you.

I guess, but hope it's not the case, that they don't come here it see what the SS members have to say.
Actually Neal and the mods had the news but it was hard to coordinate a simultaneous launch so Terrapin beat us with his posting

Yeah..I had Neal on the phone trying to plan what to do and I got off the phone....Terrapin had posted :rotfl::rotfl:

"- Add an “assisted method” to determine the target’s speed when playing with the manual targeting option set to “ON”, to simulate the firing party putting together subsequent range checks from the captain."

anyone can help me with what this means or how it works? will the game just give away the speed?

My assumption is it will be like SH3.. you ask the guy to give you a solution.. he inputs everything and you hit fire.. so it feels a bit less like a point and click.

Am I totally off?

- Eliminate the instances where the player gets assigned the same mission multiple times, even though the game is meant to give you variety and different missions, of course depending on historical context

- The submarine radars (SD, SJ) should work consistently and detect targets in all appropriate circumstances

- The players career is ended sometimes by high command, for inaccurate reasons such as perfectly good and new submarines being retired from frontline duty. This will be sorted out to work as intended.

- Colorado class battleships will be added to the game

Yeehhaaaaahhhh

The rest of the wip also isn't so bad :p

I am guessing that it will have something to do with the chronometer ala SH3.

Hopefully they'll fix the chronometer, but if they can't do that I vote for an option where you can get the speed from the XO or something like that.

I look forward to all you beta testers to report the hopeful success of 1.3 to enable me to buy the SH4.

But, it depends on what you say that will cause me to part with my money and of course improvements by the great mod community.

Certainly a good event; the coming of a 1.3

I suspect they'll try the first option. Hopefully the don't forget Imperial users who want to operate that way too. If that doesn't work well, I'm guessing there'll be a button to hit. Hopefully the first option, though I'll still be doing it manually.
