X3 is awesome.

As is it's support team.

Oh, and I would easily pay for an expansion.

Three reasons...

1. I don't want the subsim genre to die.
2. Angry at UBI or not, I want to support the efforts of the dev team.
3. I love the game and want more of it, even if it means unjustly paying for a patch disguised as an expansion.

Look, right or wrong, if we boycott further UBI sim products, and if they stop making the silent hunter series, and if we don't get a patch, do you know who loses?

WE DO.

That is exactly the reasoning they are using and frankly speaking it is flawed. It is a monopolistic philosophy and is inherently bad for consumers. Maybe the SH series may be put in the vaults by UBI and sure we might lose the franchise. But you cant say with certainty that there is not a developer out there in the market place with a different and maybe far superior new franchise just waiting in the wings to capitalize on such an event. Guess who wins in that situation? WE DO.

But if we keep supporting it and they keep putting out games that are broken and refuse to fix them, we not only lose, we lose 50 bucks.

LukeFF, remember the problem with IL2 and the trouble Oleg had over a/c and not getting permission? Same applies with an expansion for SH4. More than likely they'd have to pay to use a/c from those mfgs.

This is also why we don't have Yorktown class carriers in the game...from what I've read, Grumman laid a legal smackdown on Ubisoft over IL2 and won. Now anything Grumman is off limits, and the Yorktown was built at Newport News Shipbuilding & Drydock Co, which is *SURPRISE!* owned by Grumman.

HECK NO!!! I paid for SH4 and it's in need of some fixing. After fixing that then I'll think of purchasing an expansion pak. There's no doubt in my mind the expansion pak will need a patch or two. Get the product solid then build upon it.

Exactly and we also lose an opportunity to have another product from a different publisher replace the current one.

Additionally for the record, I have no complaints with dev team they are doing their jobs as told. My reprehension is for the parent company and its utter disrespect and contemptuous actions towards its consumer base. UBI has pulled crap like this so many times already it disgusts me to say the least. Worst of all with all the laws related to DRM and IPR being twisted and extended at break neck speeds in full opposition against society in recent years, all I can see are darker days ahead for media consumers unless the general public wakes up, stands up and does something about it.

I do not think to connect to multiplayer until they extract the 1.3 and since they do not extract it do not think to buy anything of UBI

I will not pay for a patch, neither should anyone else and I find the votes shocking.

1.3 is being made because the game has flaws, I don't think people should have to pay for a patch even if it includes new content because the people who don't buy it get stuck with the same flawed game (how exactly is that fair?).If they wanted to sell new content then that is fine but 1.3 needs to be released separately. If they were going to release direct 2 drive content, then I could see possibly purchasing it (depending on the nature of the content) if it were a reasonable price, maybe $5-10.

SHEEP......One leads, the rest follow!!!
--------
I will not pay twice, to fix what should have been completed upon release.
An expansion, if worthy, will be considered as long as the original title version is correct.

Default Ah but it is to dream!!

I'd pay double and double again if they'd release an Atlantic addon so we have a choice to play pacific or atlantic, US or Gemrman subs as and when we wanted to with all the wonderful graphics that SH4 has bought to the game series

Ah but it is to dream!!

I already feel ripped off due to the poor quality of the released product. I'm not going to pay anymore for a PATCH. It's their job to fix the bugs and I've payd them for that when I bought the game.
