Default Intalling patches?

Was it every determined if both patch 1.1 and 1.2 are need when installing the game or can we just load the game and then only use patch 1.2?

From the patch notes

Quote:
Please make sure that you are installing the right patch for your game version.
This patch can be applied on Silent Hunter 4 Original Version and on Patch 1.1 also.
This patch will upgrade your version of Silent Hunter 4 to Silent Hunter 4 Patch 1.2.

I saw a post before on this and all I can say is recently uninstalled the game myself due to some corruption (the game wouldnt start). I installed the game and patch 1.2 and have to say I havent had a problem with damage control since.

Maybe there is some truth to what he said

I patched from 1.1 to 1.2 and have no issues (shrug).

In fact I cleaned out all the mods except for one minor mod to the controls.cfg which I forgot and the mod remained.

I re-installed completely when 1.2 came out. Just patched over with 1.2 and no problems other than the known ones.

Well, I just slammed in patch 1.2 over 1.1 and I do not have any issues with exception of this:

I do not get frequent aircraft around the Cerebus Sea and really should not but around the Luzon I get plenty which is fine because it should be busy, the problem is, these planes must be blind as they fly on by like they do not see me. I even fire at them to get their attention and they do nothing.

What is strange is I see posts from forum members of aircraft just crawling all over the place but my game is much different. I get few contacts and when I do, the planes do not attack.

Only mods I have are the green light mod, reduced contact mod for the clipboard and the texture mod for the speed/rudder/depth guages.

I was swarmed by planes that did nothing as well, AVG. That didn't used to happen. Wonder what their eqp files look like...

Not that I really want the planes bearing down on my butt every second but I had 6 pass me on my last patrol at different times that did nothing at all. I would hope the pilot would have turned his head to look. Geez, was even shooting the twins at them

These birds motored on by and never returned. Then again it could have been the same two birds I spotted 3 times. Oh well, I will let it ride as is

It seems that once aircraft spawn on you, they keep flying back and forth on the same path until they see you or it gets dark.

So, yes, they are the same ones if they keep flying the same path on the same day. They keep coming back. Happens to me all the time.

Thanks for the clarification!!!!! Now, they just might be blind because they certainly do not see the tracers flying by the cockpit:rotfl: Oh well, just as well, I hate those buggers anyway.

Are the AI ships in the game acting normal? Do you hear pings?
Could be more to this than meets the eye....

My AI ships have alway acted ok. It is that mixed bag of very aggressive DD and super dumb DD. There are the merchants that will attempt to ram and the merchants that just stop and take the beating.

I do hear pings as well.

When I first played vanilla, planes were everywhere. 1.1 and the reduced radio traffic mod and map update check to off. The planes subsided and seem to show up as they should, when they should. Last night I sit in the Luzon patrolling and the planes show but no attacking. I would say they are about 8-9000 yards out. BTW the radar does detect them and since 1.2 the radar has stopped detecting ships, only planes like it should. I have that early radar model. Seems to work fine for me.

Factors to consider: weather, your speed, your direction, distance,
type of plane, crew experience, etc. Might just be OK. Best way to
test would be to make a editor mission and input all the parameters
yourself....
