Don't fret Clayp, I'm helping Payoff with a little installer for it. It will make it much easier to install (it won't overwrite the file, just add the appropriate records to your commands file).

Cheers.

Hey Payoff,

I made a command file merger utility. You can get it here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...120#post497120

I'll try and get that cameras.dat file for you today as well.

Cheers!

Does this need to be done for every new patrol?

Do you have to reconfigure this in every new patrol in a career? I'm afraid this is a little bit too much for me to cope with.:hmm: I will try it with that new Commands.cfg utility of Skweetis.

Thats great Skweetis. Much appreciated. This will cut tons of Winmerge time.

You only have to edit the Commands.Cfg once, but the camera placement is only temporary for that particular patrol. I always get the boat underway first, then set my cams up along the way. It has become a mini ritual of sorts, (right up there with dragging the Message Box and the Chrono to the bottom of the screen where they belong). It only takes a minute or so once you get the hang of it. I kinda like it that way for variety sake, as you can change things up each time if you wish, and if you screw up, a simple reload will let you start over again.

In the mean time Skweetis is working on removing the horizontal limiters allowing all the cams to have unrestricted views, along with some other goodies. I think this is going to get much better.

I have uploaded the cameras.dat file with the horizontal limits on the custom cameras removed. It also includes Beery's Extended Camera Height mod for the Free Camera.

JSGME compatible.

Let me know if you have any problems.

get it here: http://rednaxela.killerpings.ws/SH4/...mCameras_1.zip

Sorry clayp, I was doing the real world thing today. Hang in there. I am putting all this together in a JSGME pack using a clean (out of the box) Commands.Cfg for those using the default key commands or anyone who wants to kick the tires and take this for a spin around the block to check it out, with step by step instructions in a readme. Now that Skweetis has fixed the cameras.dat file I just need to make a few changes to the mouse cycles as the free cams are no longer needed, now that the cams have unrestricted viewing. I am also making a JSGME versoin for folks with a modified Commands.Cfg with Skweetis's handy "command file merger utility". I'll get it uploaded soon.
