Default GWX crashing on startup

Done a complete clean install and patched to 1.4b. Installed GWX and the 1.03 patch, but when I hit the start exe I get a blue screen full of text. Please help.

Hi and welcome to Subsim.
One question before your clean install of Sh3 did you completely delete all Sh3 files?

Delete any/all SH3 files from C\MyDocuments
Install a clean version of SH3 in C\Program Files\Ubisoft\SH3
Patch it to 1.4b
Copy the folder and paste it to whatever drive you want.

Rename the folder ‘GWX’.
Now install GWX

Now install GWX (v1.0 whatever)
Create a shortcut to the desktop..
Install the SH3Cmd 2.7 plus the SH3Cfg file
If your going to use multiple installs I’d suggest a separate install of SH3Cmdr for each plus an install of MultiSH3.

Hi and many thanks for replies, I have done both of the suggested except Install the SH3Cmd 2.7 plus the SH3Cfg file. But I believe this is not really a requirement. I download the file from the Game Shadow server. Here are my system specs:

1. Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E6600 Processor (2.4GHz, 1066MHz, 4MB)
2. Intel P965 Express Chipset/ICH8DH
3. 2048MB Dual Channel DDR2 533MHz [2x1024]
4. 1GB nVidia® GeForce® 7950 GX2 Dual GPU
5. 16x DVD +/- RW & 16x IDE DVD ROM Drive
6. 10/100/1000 LAN
7. MS FF2, Track IR3
8. XP Professional SP2
9. DirectX Version 9.0c
10. Integrated Sound Blaster® Audigy™ ADVANCED HD

There isnt one listed on the GWX site
Perhaps someone from GWX will know

If there is one you can check the D\L for corruption before installation again

Do we not use the 1.03 patch also?

Not for the single file download.

@Bat

This blue screen, is it a BSOD? Are there any error codes? What does the text say?

Not sure what a BSOD is but it closed down my PC after it. I didn`t get all info as it was a full page. But I did notice this: NV4_disp.dll

BSOD is the aptly named Blue Screen Of Death. Don't you just love Microsoft.

Check out NV4_disp.dll in google and read the results, from what I can se this is nVidia driver related. Sorry it's not better news.
