Default New to sh3, problem installing

I have a computer that is currently not connected to the internet. I tried installing sh3 on it and part way through the install I get an error that there is a virus on my computer. (Which there shouldnt be) I finished installing and I cannot play because there is an error. I got the game from amazon and i dont think it is a pirated copy. after all, it came in the box and shrink wrapped and brand new.
thanks for any help

I would suggest removing any files that SH3 put on your hard drive then defrag and make sure any anti-virus programs are not running-even if the computer isn't on the net. Then attempt another install.

I've often heard that you should not run anti-virus software when playing games to improve performance. How do your make sure it's not runnning?
thanks

Usually you can right click on it and either exit or disable it. There is a program out there called End it All, it will shut all your background applications down
