Default [TEC] Japanese Cruise acceleration question

Should japanese cruisers be able to accelerate at 1knot or more per second? That seems pretty quick for such a large ship. The BB's seem to accelerate pretty quickly too.

I've seen DDs stop in about 1 sec. and then go backwards just as fast.
I think its the devs way of eliminating ship collisions. When 2 ships get
very close, one will react this way to avoid hitting the other....

That may be well and good for avioding collisions but when lining up a shot at close range against a very slow cruiser, then have it sprint away at warp speed is a little irritating. I wouldn't think that is possible. I could maybe accept a DD ripping away pretty fast but not a cruiser, battle ship or carrier.
