Wtf!!!!..........

Is all the fuss about. I have played this game in the various modes, still playing 1.0 ( installing the patch tonight ) and it rocks. I have not even installed any mods yet, so it will only get better

Plus with the new patch on the horizon :hmm:

I am have GWX installed as well, so right now is the best of both worlds for
sub-simmers

Did you just get your game?

I'm wondering what the fuss is about myself. I love it.

I have had it for about a week and half, just built a new computer, so this and SH3 GWX run very smooth.

As mentioned I have tried the various modes and am very impressed, even with the bugs. With the way the mods are coming and the next patch on the horizon, the future looks bright

I too am really digging this game.

Once I was able to recover from the dreaded "Monolith of Doom" and the nefarious "A Key" glitch, I was fully immersed in the game, and loving it.

More patches, as well as touch-ups from our beloved Modder's Community, will only make this sim better.

Farewell and Following Seas!

I know it is difficult to answer, but how many patches is UBI going to release for this game? For SHIII it was three then all was quiet. Does everyone here think two more patches for this game as well?

In about 11 hours from now I hope to be in front of my pc installing it!?!?!?

I am glad to see this thread.

I tried a few times to post something similar - but it didn't take off.

I have been playing and not having the majority of the problems reported by many. When I have seen unusual behaviour, I have been able to dope out at least a tentative explanation for some of the problems (e.g. RADAR turns off by itself! - caused by heavey seas states and completely reasonable, to me)

Yes, there are some oddities - but I am having a blast.

I am running the "Flavor mod" by Ducimus, and I am keeping an eye on the mod overseen by beery. A merging of these two (if it happens) will see me change to that.

Been hunting in my current campaign in the Celebs Sea and so far 6 merchants have fallen to my deck gun and 1 torpedo expended. 35k Tons so far. Weather has been lousy though. All of my intercepts have been via RADAR at night. Last one was two large merchants together.

A great game that will become awesome (and is well on its way).

It's certainly not unplayabe, and is still great fun and gorgeous to look at. But the torpedo speed bug is killing me, and now the possible tube opening problem makes it a little worse. Still have to go back and ooh and ahh over it all, and the svs are working at patches so not the end of the world.

One other thing that's throwing me is the torpedo depth setting. Is it the torps sinking slightly? Or is the in-game recognition manual a bit out for some ships? (I have the printed recog manual but that shows draught in metres, which doesn't go with my Imperial settings.

This post talks about the sub physics in the game which has great potential, I am wondering if new stuff was done to the torps as well:hmm:

I have to be honest here. When I got this game, I was wondering what all the complaints were about here. This is one of the most amazing submarine simulations I've played. And it's darn beautiful on my monitor. I'm having no trouble running it, and I'm having fun simulating life as a WW2 US Navy sub skipper. I'm still on my first patrol with 12,000 tons sunk. And still hunting near Honshu. Anything added to make this game better will just be more icing on the cake.

Thank you for a change from the multiple 'I hate SH4 and Ubisoft sucks' threads.

I know the feeling of loving a game 'everyone' hates, and the feeling of hating a game 'everyone' else loves. I still can't for the life of me understand how people could like The Sims. On the other hand, I love several disliked games that many just don't... get.

PS: GWX is awesome.

Yes, the dark side of the Forum have yet to discover this positive thread. Probably won't be too long before the negative ranting starts though.
