SH3 is a very matured game! SH4, yet a mere babe in the woods is a very good game that is getting better each day. IHMO, it is worth it.

The verdict? To what? The original posters' question from six months ago....or to whether SH4 is worth it?

Default SH4 is VERY worth it

Silent Hunter 4 is only the best submarine simulator on the planet. For some that is not good enough. To me, since it's the best I can get, it's VERY worth it. If you enjoy SH3 you'll enjoy SH4. If you haven't played either, I recommend buying both. They are the most fun you can have while not actually getting wet.

very nice summary.

I prefer SH4 because of the graphics [nothing less than awesome compared to sh3] and not having to micro manage the crew like in SH3 - to me it sucks BIG TIME in SH3.

The reason for both? Gaming rig handles SH4 like a charm. My laptop does not have the same horsepower. So ....... at home gaming rig LOVES SH4. For the laptop on the road, it loves SH3 w/GWX mod, and crew management sucks the big one as a trade off. In SH4 you don't have to mess with it. Also, I do not miss the crude radio messages from bdu in SH3.

I play with everthing "on" but manual targeting in either game.

Love both based on what rig is available at the time of gaming.

Hard to say. So far that's america person's only post for 2007. He used to post on this board quite frequently.

yeah man, graduated highschool and now I'm in college I stopped playing games much on pc cos it died last christmas whe i got an external dvd drive specifically for SH3 which failed and gave me the blue screen of death so i nixed that idea in teh bud.
I got bored and broke out the sh disc shuffling things around in my dorm room and figured why the hell not, and put it in the drive bay before i realized I needed dosbox. Oh well(hence my other thread )
