Default I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS!! Lost my CD KEY!! What do I do?

I was taking a bath a couple times, lol, and I like to read in there, well I brought the manual with me, and being I just got internet again I would like to try the multiplayer of SH4, even though I gave up the single player..

I go get the manual and half the numbers are gone from sitting the manual on the counter..

I am really pissed off at yet another reason why SH4 gets me mad.. Why couldn't they just put the CD key in the box like SH3..

In anycase I took a picture but hotmail is down right now for some reason..

What do I do all?

THANKS

My CD key is on the inside of the plastic box, not on the manual. Bought in Canada so I'm not sure how the other countries did it.

You can try contacting UBISOFT and see what is required to get a replacement CD Key if you have proof of purchase from the back of the manual. Not sure if that would work.

With SH3 I was able to get a CD key from ubi.. because it never came with a cdkey...

Just call them, tell them you have the box and all the info, they should hook ya up.

Mine was inside the box as well.. not on the manual..

Canadian.. so could be a patern there as posted above. We may not have the bonus material like the map and such, but at least my key is safe in the box.

Ubisoft will replace your CD-Key with proof of purchace, and the UPC code off the box whatever it is.

When you install the game, it ask you if you like to register your game, say Yes. It will allow you to get customer support for the game. If not, they may ignore you.

I have the US version, my CD key is on the back cover of the manual. But to the OP, I make it a habit if the key is on the manual, to print a label with the key on it and stick it firmly to the inside of the CD case. Works well, since I never take the CD case in the bathroom

Hope you can get it sorted with UBI. In the meantime, next time you get a game where the key is printed on the manual, take my tip and make a label with the key, then stick it inside the box - no more worries!

The UPC code is usually the barcode or serial code underneath the barcode.

UPC's are good for getting all kinds of replacement hardware, including laptop batteries.

Most company's tech staff consist of individual people who aren't trained to say 'no' or outsourced foriegners who can't say 'no' anyways because it would probably get them fired.

So in essence getting another key from ubisoft should be easy if you take the time and money to call their support lines.

Mine's inside the box, Canadian version as well.

You could always email UBI and send in a scan of your manual and reciept, tell them what happened, and ask for a new one.

I rec'd my copy of SHIV from Amazon just yesterday, Friday, 3.30. I'm in Northern California. My CD key is printed on the back of the manual, lower left-hand corner.

However, during the installation process, the game never asked me to enter any CD key!

I manually rebooted, and ran the navigation training mission; damaged one of the PT boats and two of the merchants with gun fire, then put two fish in the first merchant.

MMWAHAHAHA!

BTW: I found reading in the shower too difficult, so I switched to audio books.
