Hi
Some of you may know that I've been into SH3 for a couple of years and just got my SHIV Collectors edn. I'm not ashamed to say however that still after all this time and an almost finished career in SH3, I still don't understand most Submarine terms and esp. Torpedo solutions. I've watched all the amazing videos you guys have made (the most recent TDC SHIV one is great. 5 out of 6 eh? show off! How many times did you record that demo until you got that eh? ![]() Anyway, I have searched all to no avail, and I was wondering if anyone had a really good, thorough, but really easy to understand guidebook for all the terms, i.e. relative bearing, AOB, etc, and for the whole concept of torpedo solutions from the dumbed down description all the way up (in stages pref) to the full Trig comprehension. I really want to get the most out of these sims, and I really want to understand all the aspects involved. None of my friends or accquiatences play these games so i don't have anyone to show me. I don't really want to annoy the people on the forum by asking one question after the other either, so a complete guide would be wonderful...if it exists... Anyone? Thanks |

Not necessarily torpedo solutions, but for all sorts of submarine terminology, San Francisco Maritime National Park Association's website reproduces "The Fleet Type Submarine, Navpers 16160, is the first in a series of submarine training manuals that was completed just after WW II. The series describes the peak of WW II US submarine technology." ... see http://www.maritime.org/fleetsub/ . It is based on USS Perch, a Balao-class fleet boat, launched Sept. '43. It's very detailed, with drawings and plans, but easy to scan and look at what you want.
