Default Even in these miserable times...

it's good to see you, all folks, after a long time!
But let's go in the business:

After two days trials, I see the situation with "The IV" as: Ubi did it again! SHI was a great game, II was'nt, III was a real ground breaker and IV... Don't want to say what I think about the game just know. But I really feel my money flew out of window.
The game seems to be released again much before it was ready and this time I really doubt if Dev team can finish their job. The game also seems to be just too heavy for a standard PC of these days. I hope I'm just too pessimistic, but this is what I feel just know. I'm very dissapointed.

Thanks to Beery, Marhki, JScones and many, many more of these great fellows, who put their hart in work with SHIII, I can now make my course back to Atlantic. It makes me happy. That's all.

Salute!

Default SH4 & Standard pc

Totally agree Rosencrantz,my gf6600gt just wont cut it with Sh4 even at low settings, not unless you like a slide show. That being said I watched it on a friends super duper Alienware Area-51 ALX.The graphics were simply outstanding, gameplay great once you get used to them.I would recommend SH4 to anyone having a upper mid range to high performance pc.As for me its back to the Atlantic & U-552 until I can scrap together enough money for another gig of ddr ram,& a newer nividia graphics cardCody
My present system
Athlon64 4300 series cpu
GF-6600 GT (256 MB) Video card
Sony 19" LCD monitor
Creative Platinum sound system
Coolermaster Dreamer tower
Saitek x52 pro joystick
One gig ddr system ram

Boy you guys are cutting and running to quickly, you really don't recall when SH3 came out do you? Many folks here seem positive with the good points of the sim...give it time.

No is question of give time to it or not.

if is impossible to play with a medium computer it could be put on the shelf easily and forget, and minimum specs are not correct hardware requeriments are too heavy and slides options don´t help.

i actually dont recall much wrong with SHIII other than it was a little lacking in action (shipping lanes, no variety, nothing in ports)
immersion out of the box was always excellent.

given a month or two to create a patch im sure this will be a fantastic sim. and in a years time it will have been modded by everyone im sure.

but seriously pc games are released in this state all the time now. its a crying shame.
look at stalker, i think they spent 1 year talking about the features, and 5 years removing them
its a damn good game but seriously has no optimization. and countless bugs that you couldnt play the game more than one time and miss.

the unfortunate truth is, you gave them your money, they knew you would.
now onto SH5.
maybe that is harsh but im sure its not that far off the truth, but then ussually it is ubi that take the blame, when they have pretty much all the best games out on theyre books, maybe its time to finger the devs for once.
