Not sure at what graphical levels the screenshot was taken for SH4 in that post, but in my case I have run a custom level of graphics in SH4 where I have all options for Medium plus a few extras (before the FPS drops too much) and SH4 is (again, in my case) a little bit better graphically at that point than SH3. However, I have no problem switching between the two games on the fly and feeling like SH3 is now some sort of wasted effort.

I find it comical all the posts regarding the "ditching" of SH3 for SH4. I think SH3 will stand on both feet just fine, even with SH4 around. Not saying that's what the direction of this post was meant as, but I guess that's my $.02 on it.

I think that it would be fantastic to be able to play SHIII (w/ GWX, of course ) with the graphical improvements in SHIV. However, I don't think that SHIII will "drift away," as it were, because it lacks these improvements. It's still, hands down, the best U-boat simulation ever.

Sailing during a dark dawning of the new day.

Reminds me slightly of the movie "Poseidon", at the end.

Boom.

Hehe, rammed a sampan which exploded.

Don't have any of SH3 though. Someone must provide.

Yes it does. That is FSAA and Anisoptric Filtering cranked all the way up in the driver control panel. Just imagine what SH4 would look like with this option!
