Default Bearing tool not working or not in the game?

Hi all,

just got the game and I was pleased to notice that many of the great tools modded into SH3 are in SH4 from the get go. But the problem is that atleast for me the bearing tool placed on your sub doesn´t work on the attack map. There is a tab on the top of the page for the tool but it doesn´t do anything at all. So I was wondering if it is a bug or is the tools just plain missing. I remember that the mod that first had the tool in SH3 had some troubles with ATI cards, which I have on my computer.

I´d really like to do my solutions by hand as in GWX but without the bearing tool this just ins´t possible. Atleast not without the godeye-option turned on, which kind spoils it for me. So if it is just missing from the game then someone with the required talent should do all of us a big favour and do some modding!

Why dont you ask in the modding forum, then?

Well this topic is more about the tool being in the game already (as the tab on the attack map suggests) than modding it in. Of course if it turns out that this is not a bug and the tool just isn´t there, then I´ll post in the modding section.

Default Missing Bearing Tool - Found!

Well, sort of, the bearing tool is there, it's just not superimposed on the boat. If you zoom in on the attack map and scroll around you'll find it. I have the same glitch myself. I have an ATI x1600 Pro 256, what do you have?

I haven´t found it but I´ll check that as soon as I get home. This means that the tool is really in the game, it is just not working right. I have the same video card as you do.

It´s in the bottom menu, next to the navigation map. Under the second header if I remember correctly.

Edit: Has anyone been able to get the bearing tool working? It would be nice to know if this problem is video card related.

Just got 1.1 yesterday and I noticed that the bearing tool is removed from the attack map. UBI should really get it working as the tools is vital for manual solutions.
