Hi
I know we can't set salvo's like the U-boats in SH3. In you Video i noticed you Picked Tube 1 Set an Angle Fired Changed Tube Set and Angle Fired Changed Tube Set and Angle Fired Changed Tube Set and Angle Fired Seems very long winded compared to the past 2 games. Can't you set the angle for each tube individually before you fire any? So it would be like this Set individual spread angle for each tube before any shots are made. Pick Tube 1 Fire Change Tube Fire Change Tube Fire Change Tube Fire Thanx

That "feature" was probably missed by American WWII sub captains as well, since it wasn't available on US subs...

I can't speak for Neal, but the reason I would change the offset angle between each shot is that I don't want my firing solution to get too old while I'm switching tubes and cranking the angle for everything all at once.
At least the way Neal did it, your first one or two fish are still pretty up to date with the firing solution. I could just be superstitious about those few extra seconds though. ![]()

I also noticed that it didn't seem like you were opeing the tubes before fireing... It this now figured into the solutions? It was key to a lot of my hits in SH3... And lack of hits before I knew about it.

No Salvo's sadly - but that is how it was.
Also, you can open the door for one tube but when you switch to the next, the door closes auto-magically so you can't pre-open all the doors to save some time. Having said that, I'm not certain that the time to fire is any different for an open vs not-opened tube. Might be worth checking since the stuff I've seen isn't conclusive... r. |

Hmmm.. Acutaly theres a way to see if this is intended or not in game. Check the TDC, there shoould be a setting for torpedo spread angle's. If there's not, then, no salvo's. |

I find it hard to believe that it was not possible to open more than one TT door at a time, even if salvoes were not possible.

Yes, the Americans fired salvoes. They did it by setting the spread angles and then firing the torpedoes, five to ten seconds apart.
I was just recently shown on another thread on this subject that the Germans actually had a pre-set switch to govern which tubes would be fired, which SH3 replicated better than I had assumed. The torpedoes were still fired about five seconds apart, which SH3 does not do.

I wonder if theres a torpedo door switch somewhere. In SH3 you can a manually open up all tubes (regardless if in salvo mode or not) by flipping the switchs just below the periscope in the conning tower.

Most important interlock is the breech door-muzzle door. Openning the breech while the muzzle is open can ruin your whole day. Other interlocks are gravy. |
