Default What experience do you have with the Pacific Theater of Operations

With the peding release of Silent Hunter 4 I am curious how knowledgeable people are here at Subsim with both American submarines and the Pacific war. Be honest and post here your knowledge of this soon to be released game.

Hmmm...not a whole helluva alot really, aside from some anecdotetal stuff.I did read the book about the archerfish's sinking of the shinano, curious that was the only ship the archerfish sunk, and they did a book on it.I guess it just was'nt as sexy as the atlantic even thou alot, well a few notable warship sinking's occured there, kako, shokaku destoyer's etc...
I guess the most notable thing I remeber was'nt from a history book but sub game.I belive it was silent hunter I.It was in like the second page of the manual where they did a bar graph of japanese ships sunk by plane, ship, and submarine. The graph for "sunk by american submarines" was greater than all the other two combined.

I led Allied forces to victory in the strategic level game War in the Pacific. You get every Allied sub USN, British and Dutch to deploy in that one.

I was on a destroyer in the Pacific, but 25 years after WW2 ended, so it means nothing.

Read a lot.
Played Silent Service.
Played Silent Service II.
Played Epyx Sub Battle Simulator.
Played Silent Hunter, including Commander's Edition.

I put down that I'm a Technical Wizard.:rotfl:
