Default Convoi formations in GWX

I never played vanilla SH3, but played a lot with IUB and GW1.1 and if my memory is correct, the convoys there usually sailed in columns. Right now I'm playing GWX in 1939/40 and the larger convoys all seem to sail in something like a multiple line abreast formation. Has this been changed? If yes, did they do so in reality?

AFAIK, the convoys have always sailed in a box (many columns side by side).

When I said "in a collumn" I didn't mean single file. They allways sail in a box, but I remember the box being longer than it was wide, now it is wider than it is long. Or is it just my memory? Hmmm

And you will also run into a number of convoys where there are only 2 long columns as well.

Near the west coast of France and down to Spain you will even get single line 'mini' convoys. Usually 3-4 merchants & 1 escort.

However, as said above, the convoys are almost always 'box' shaped it just depends on the amount of ships in the convoy.

Sometimes even 'rectangular' in shape

The columns vary by ship total in the convoy

Here is a diagram of HX229

If you mean where they present a wide front and narrow side, this is correct. Not only that, but arranging the convoys like that (with proper spacing) helps avoid the old Way point change bug.

Back end of 41 you often see French (IIRC) sailing in pairs escorted by one escort (again French) into the mouth of the Med

So it has been changed, thanks. I already believed I was making it up.

From stock yes. Convoys have been changed since the Improved convoys mod, from like ages ago.
