Default OK Ducimus

The patrol has started phweeeee

Here begins my 1943 10th Flotilla patrol. We are feeling good but a little sea sick. This big beast likes to rock. Up came my squid and mustard sandwich

Here comes my first trouble. I basically getting into the Bay. Nice plane but, geez, not very friendly . They dropped some care packages. I did not care for them too much

Said care package dented my boat and wrecked the paint. I have called the insurance company and told of the hit and run incident. My crew plugged the holes with chewing gum. All was well

Then along came a PBY. Wagged it's wings and we waved back. It was a grand time until he also dropped a care package. Uhm, chewing gum was not going to work here. I think I'm kicking off the gunners. We will just dive next time. The locals are not friendly.

Life was not sucking to bad. We did manage to sink this beauty. My first two torps missed. Bernard left his glasses back in Lorient. He is going to be a gunner . We do not plan on telling him when we are submerging on the next go around .

Knowing that I had trashed one of Doenitz boats and knowing that Doenitz is knowing what I'm knowing. I decided to stop at U-488. When we got there, after finding them in the fog, the were knowing what were knowing. We ain't going to make it in this tub. I hope they have welding equipment. I told them to use pieces from the flak guns. We don't use them

I did hear that Penage or some foriegn type port is open. I guess I'm headed there. I wonder how their squid and mustard sandwiches are:hmm:

Adventure to continue...if the boat will. I like this boat. Lots of nice gadgets and radar things. There is a triangle thingy on the conning tower. I'm thinking of apply some cloth and add string. It should fly nicely in the breeze. I need to find a tail for it if it is to fly right. I have some sort of TV thing in the radio room. I can never get a channel in. It is always has a fuzzy green line up the middle. Oh well, I just shut it off. It makes buzzing noises and acts weird when planes are around. Maybe the planes are messing up the reception. I'll ask Doenitz what he knows about it. Oh well, hopefully U-488 will complete the repairs soon. The darn dolphins hanging around are noisy.

Hey Ducimus Have a moment in the sun on me

I have been working up Uber on the IXB hull since december

ooops

now I have to start from scratch damn.

Uber must be biggest hull
better for stealing coffee off of the Black swans bridgecrews

and although I totally love the thread I would just like to add that
in IXB b is for balls.

No I did not. I completely forgot about that little issue. I was busy saving my hide along with the crews hide. Except Bernard, we skinned him. Besides, the condition of the old tub, we need few weeks.

Now you see how my patrols go. I'm still trying to tune in the round television in the radio room. It still just has a green line and gets no picture. I will attempt tonight to continue this patrol Ducimus has asked me to try. So far, it is really good!

Would be a perfect fun scooting in the waters around England (Channel, Irish Sea) for a 3 months' patrol with a IXD2. Anyone ever tried using that Brontosaurus in a role as a coastal u-boat or a Gibraltar breakthrough?

Cheers,

Not a TV? Is it a microwave? Honestly, I just sit there looking at it. Not much happens with it. The radio dude does say radar detection. The first plane attack I was on the surface. The second I just submerged and the PBY whacked me. I don't like messing with the planes

U-488 fixed up our tub. Coat of wax and fresh oil. Good as new. We got some more squid and mustard for sandwiches. We had a fine send off. Most of the crew of U-488 was laughing. I wonder why:hmm:

BDU sent a message stating I was to go to the brake for fuel. Afterwards we are to patrol the Arabian Sea. So we headed off. No ships in sight. We decide to hit Freetown to see whats shaking! Low and behold. This fat baby shows up. We are submerged in 28 meters. Not to good if a warship shows. Ah, we attack anyway.

We put two lovely holes in her side. Things not looking good for the soon to be junk. Some planes came in and drop DC but to no effect.

I had to send in one more torp to seal the deal. I went on about my business in getting to the brake. I will be running the single shipping lane. Hopefully some more ships will come around. It gets boring looking at Bernard all day.

Its a long trip. I can't wait to see if you can find the shipping around the cape area. If you see a task force inbound to capetown.. its probably not *really* a task force, but a convoy with a CVE in it.

Shipping is slow so I moved in of Freetown. Really shallow but took the chance. I plan on following the shipping lane shown on the map. I have won all of Bernards money playing craps. So we need some excitment. I'm moving slow to save fuel. It is a long way I do like this big old tub. Not a bad boat after all
