GWX Land Units don't work!

Just been in & out of some English Harbours, on the surface, and the land units do nothing, they are manned but must be on drugs or something!

Looking through binoculars they crosshairs don't even change red, absolutely no threat!
Is this correct?

Do you tried to get closer a land unit on enemy harbour?
They should fire at you when you are at the proper distance.

IIRC, they are now environmental units type = 408 (to avoid that old camera bug) but they yet will fire at you. But your crew will not say "land unit detected sir" anymore. This is also good. You need to be twice as carefull when enter a enemy harbour now.

Let me know if you find any other problem or if they are shooting at you or not.:hmm:

BBW just post a email to me with a pic of a land unit shooting him at night. He said me that he was 1km away. The short distance is because was night and also a stock limitation.

So, they work.

Damn thing near destroyed my boat

I was close to it before it opened up but it carried on shooting as I sailed away from it
Couldnt submerge - mines and subnets

That was a small bunker though
Not sure how much further the larger ones will open up on you

Yes I will have to try getting closer, as I said I went to Dundee, from the beginning to the end of the channel in broad daylight through the center & not one gun fired at me, not even any aircraft! come to think of it, I haven't seen any dolphins in GWX either, must be mating season or something!

Do we know what weapon system/calibre these bunkers are using ? This may have an outcome of effective ranges and when they are able to engage, or it might be a visual distance thingy. Direct fire onto a U-Boat......ouch !

The small bunkers use a 4.7" single
The medium uses an 8" double and the large a 15" double

Will install bigger guns and run some trials

It wont be pretty
