Default Underwater Terrain?

I have seen the screenshots of the much improved sea bed but does anyone know if there is any kind of terrain at the bottom of the SEIV oceans, either random or accurately mapped?

I'm guessing in the deeper waters you would never see it anyway since the subs back then couldn't go that deep!

Technically they could. It's just that it was a one-way trip.

There will be vegetation, rocks and wrecks. As for fish, dolphins, whales and so on, we don't know yet.

The deeper water is so dark anyhow that I don't think you'd be able to see anything either way. But then again, it's quite possible that it'll be eye-candy there, too.

I doubt there will be variation in the geometry on the sea bed.... From looks of things its still going to be flat... just with rocks and giant seaweed :p

Im not going to complain though. I think we should count our blessings theres going to be stuff on the sea bed and algae in the water.... unlike SH3

And once again my old argument crops up: it doesn't matter, because they couldn't really see outside anyway. Veggies and rocks on the bottom are silly.

I want a glass-bottomed sub so I can see the pretty sea shells.

If there are no squid I'm not buying this game, I love squid and feel that they're inclusion will add considerable depth and realism to the game.

They just found a very big one off New Zealand, so for me New Zeland now has depth and realism

Well everybody has been complaining about the Death screen, so it is mostlikely you will see the seabed during the enhanced death screen(also alot of people play with external views, and they would like better visuals). I think coral reefs would significly add to the gameplay and visuals, but they could get away with having more sudden depth changes on the ocean floor. I dont think there were any in Sh3, it was always a gradual change no underwater walls iirc.

aslong as those rocks move when I hit them its a step in the right direction.

EDIT: Mabe there should be an internal and external death screen so both parties can be happy.

Sea-bottom terrain:

And it's straight from the "Silent Hunter 4 Screenshots" thread.
